The Wirksworth 3 minute Film Festival invites film makers from around the world to submit a story, fact or fiction and display it in under 3 minutes
Submissions began in early July and have now closed with a FANTASTIC response of over 160 films from 40 countries around the world.
The festival concentrated this year on young film makers, those aged under 18 and from 18-25 years of age and are pleased to say that over 70 percent of the films submitted came from these categories. It also asked for films from the East Midlands, The UK and International Films.
Every film is guaranteed a screening at the open trail day of Sunday 15thSept. For this year there are four venues in the town of Wirksworth, The Heritage Centre, The Town Hall and the Royal Oak pub and Feather Star micro pub in which the films can be seen on a rotating basis. The festival is very proud to be part of the Wirksworth Arts Festival which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.
The Sunday Screenings are accompanied by a Films in Competition screening at The Northern Light Cinema on Monday 16th Of Sept, starting at 7.30pm.
